Therapy with
Margaret Russ

I provide a warm and nonjudgmental atmosphere for you to speak freely about yourself and your life experiences. I provide feedback that will give you insight into what is troubling you. My modality of treatment is primarily person-centered, and solution-focused. My aim is to equip you with the tools you need to solve your current problems/issues, and be better able to solve future ones independently as well. I also incorporate cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness, relaxation and stress reduction into my sessions for clients who want to work on replacing negative thoughts and behaviors with more positive approaches for managing what is troubling them.

Margaret Russ will meet with you for approximately 50 minutes. At this first session you will be asked questions so she can understand your mental health history and current issues you are concerned with. She will then discuss treatment options with you.

When you begin therapy, it is important that you set goals with Margaret Russ. What would you like therapy to assist you with? Maybe you want to overcome feelings of hopelessness or assistance with feelings of depression. Perhaps you would like to better control any fears that may interrupt your daily life.

Due to this, you may feel a wide range of emotions during therapy. This can especially occur when you discuss particularly painful and/or troubling experiences. This response is normal and when this occurs, it can actually be a positive sign that you are beginning to better understand the deep-rooted reasons as to why you are feeling the way you are. Once this begins to happen, you can start the journey of creating a path of emotional healing.
